From NCIT to FAANG: My रू799 Journey
How a single portfolio upgrade changed everything. A student story.
The Beginning
Hi, I'm Sneha. Final year CS student at NCIT.
Like most of you, I thought I had everything figured out. Good grades, a few projects, decent DSA skills. Placement season would be a breeze, right?
Wrong.
The Problem
My portfolio was a disaster. And I didn't even know it.
- Built with basic HTML/CSS in 2nd year
- No live demos (just "coming soon" placeholders)
- Looked like it was made in 2015
- Mobile view? Don't ask.
I applied to 15 companies. Got 2 callbacks. Both rejected after technical rounds.
The feedback? "Your portfolio didn't match your resume."
Ouch.
Finding FolioMarket
A senior mentioned FolioMarket. "They built my portfolio overnight. Got into Flipkart."
I was skeptical. रू799 for a professional portfolio? Sounded too good.
But with placements ending in 2 weeks, I didn't have options. I filled out their form on a Thursday night.
By Saturday morning, I had:

- All my projects with live demos
- 100/100 Lighthouse score
- Custom domain setup
- Source code on my GitHub
The Results
I updated my LinkedIn with the new portfolio link. Applied to 5 more companies.
3 interview calls within a week.
The difference? Recruiters could actually see my work. The portfolio spoke for itself.
Long story short: I'm joining Microsoft as an SDE intern next summer.
From "we regret to inform you" to a FAANG offer. All it took was रू799 and 24 hours.
My Advice
- Don't DIY your portfolio during placement season
- Invest in how you present yourself
- 24 hours of professional design > 2 weeks of struggling alone
